AMS RMX16 Digital Reverb Plug-In Trailer for UAD-2 & Apollo

AMS RMX16 Digital Reverb Plug-In.
A Reverb Like No Other — Back After 30 Years.

The AMS RMX16 was the world's first microprocessor-controlled, full-bandwidth, digital reverberator. Heard on hundreds — if notthousands — of seminal recordings from the 1980s onward, the RMX16 is still found in nearly every major recording studio the world over.

The unique and lush reverb programs of the RMX16 are instantly recognizable, from U2 and Peter Gabriel to Radiohead and Rihanna. Today, AMS Neve and Universal Audio proudly present the authentic AMS RMX16 Digital Reverb plug-in — exclusively for UAD-2 hardware and Apollo interfaces.

Now You Can:
  • Record and mix with the only authentic RMX16 digital reverb plug-in, developed by original hardware designer Mark Crabtree
  • Harness the exact legendary reverb and delay algorithms of the famous hardware
  • Apply classic Ambience, Nonlinear, Room, Hall, or Plate reverbs and unique Echo, Chorus, and Reverse effects
  • Get plug-in-only features including Dry/Wet Mix, Wet Solo, and easy “click-and-type” editing of control values

The Only Authentic AMS RMX16 Emulation
— Anywhere

In developing the UAD plug-in version of this landmark processor, Mark Crabtree of AMS Neve dusted off his original schematics and extensive notes. It was a laborious two-year process, but well worth the effort. The end result is a UAD plug-in that contains exact instruction-for-instruction models of the original algorithms — giving you iconic reverb sounds in your DAW.

Simple Sonics

Designed to be musical rather than mathematic (Peter Gabriel owned a prototype unit and delivered notes), the original RMX16 was tuned and re-tuned by ear to provide as wide a "sweet-spot" of settings as possible. The RMX16 plug-in faithfully emulates the original’s straightforward control set — meaning no menus to navigate.

Program Textures

The RMX16 is famous for its nine programs, each bringing its own identifiable sound and texture to instruments and tracks.

A Legendary Second Act

Whether you’re putting the finishes touches on a lead vocal, transforming a drum bus, or using an Apollo interface to track guitar with shoegaze ambience, the RMX16 plug-in marks the welcome return of a landmark studio tool.

“Only a full and faithful implementation of the RMX16 would satisfy me,” said Mark Crabtree. “I have spent nearly as long designing the plug-in as I did on designing the original unit from scratch!”
